"CHANGES"
"'CHANGES' is a video by Nicolas Camire and Jack Smith, coming out of a small lake town called Kenora, right smack dab in the middle of Canada. It's the first or last town in Ontario depending which way you look at it.
Kenora has been the home of a group of friends that have been filming each other skate for over 15 years and counting. We have put out two full-length videos in the past 10 years, 'The Kenora Video' (2014), and now 'CHANGES'.
Being a pretty small town—we have a population of 15,000—the crew in Kenora is unique because it's one big scene. It's not multiple different crews, it's one big family of diverse skateboarders that all bring their perspective of skateboarding to the very limited spots available.
'CHANGES' is a celebration and love letter to small-town skateboarding culture. We presented it under the guise of a skate video, but to us it's more of a montage of good memories and friendships. Video parts yes, but the important stuff are the moments in-between.
We dedicate 'CHANGES' to our friend Sam Bush, whom we lost to suicide on June 2nd, 2019. He would be 22 years old today. Happy Birthday Sam, we miss you and we love you forever." —Nicolas Camire
