Despite a snowstorm, last night Vancouver skateboard shop workers and team riders got together for a wear test of the latest Vans pro model shoe, the Gilbert Crockett Pro 2. Built on the Vans Wafflecup sole, this is a shoe that offers more support than a typical Waffle Grip, but sacrifices hardly any boardfeel at all. Right out of the box, everyone that got a pair seemed to be feeling the shoes, myself included. I'm kind of a nut about shoes, like many skaters, but I put these things on my feet and then never thought about how they felt or fit again for the rest of the night. Which is ideal when you just want to skate.
